Hi Cindi,

Terrible news, the passing of Jamie Gillis.
He was one of my all-tie favorite male porn stars.

Jamie was a quiet, perhaps shy/illusive  man; more one I suspect to communicate to through his film work and sexual language than the spoken word to people he did not know so well.
But he did make himself available as best as he was able to me and so I share with you a few emails he sent to me over the years.

He’s sent me eventually the reference photo and had several times told me to call him  and apologized for being “illusive” but he promised me he eventually would give me an interview.
He never got around to it.
Did not pick up his phone ever.
I suspect he was a very private men.

He was swift in getting a reference photo to me so I could paint him and was not one bit snobby.
He was a bit of a cute flirt and always polite.
Here, below are some of the emails he sent to me and I include the watercolor I painted of him.

I’m not a big July 4th kind of guy–I think I would have been one of those Americans who went to Canada rather than fight for Independence–I think the world might
have   been better off if everbody had done that–of course my family doesn’t feel that way so I go see them and say hello on the fourth.
Everytime I see a new example of your work I get more interested in wondering what you would do when it comes to me–a 3D   meeting sounds lovely.
things are pretty quiet these days , which is fine  with me,I’m sorta working on getting some bio info together for  a litererary agent who wants to publish a book on me, and I like to play poker a couple of days a week.

I asked him if he will be at the LA Erotica…his response:
I ain’t gonna  be there but I wish you luck in pornoland–tell Bill and Roy I said to take good care of you or they’ll answer to me.

He did indeed send me an 8×10″ black and white photo of himself in his 30′s to paint from.

I admire your work and appreciate your interest but I do not keep photos of myself, so I’m afraid you’ll have to look elsewhere if I am to be included .
The thing that most  sticks in my mind about Holmes is that I never heard a girl complain that he was too big–he was considered a gentle lover by all of them.
I don’t get to  many of the shows but if you are ever in New York feel free to look me up.
