Face Book Censors & Deletes Art Work of Our Own Denise LaFrance
Here is the original before I CENSORED it to upload onĀ Facebook
Today, I had yet another of my paintings removed on FaceBook because some prude complained that my art offended and reported me. FaceBook then removes the offensive picture and refuses to inform the owner of the picture WHICH picture it is that is removed.
In the case today I was able to figure out that it was my John Holmes watercolor titled “Beach Haus”–what was extremely absurd is, the version of the painting that was removed was CENSORED by ME–Holmes’ cock was virtually obliterated–stamped over with the identical upholstery of the sofa on which he fucked and the words “censored” stamped over top of that.
This is the one that was on Facebook that I censored
THIS was the version of the painitng what was removed! Literally as such-just 2 figures laying there. No tit, pussy or cock or ass visible. Just the IMPLIED sex.
So, enraged and a big opposer of CENSORSHIT, I decided to make a final version of the painting called “Censored To Fu(k” as a double play on words, careful not to use an official letter “c” to technically complete the actual word “fuck” –lest THAT, too be deemed “censorable”.
Anyhow, I thought you’d get a kick out of the final result and deterioration/evolution of the original painted watercolor image.
Here’s what I did to show my displeasure with FaceBook for removing it
Keep on rockin’ in the Free World!
Denise
