Tabitha Stevens on How about some R-E-S-P-E-C-T?
By Tabitha Stevens
I have been noticing disrespect amongst porn stars ( both male and female) towards each other since my return back to the business over this past year. Why? Seriously. We ALL have sex for a living. We should enjoy being around each other when doing our job. There is enough craziness and hate in this world so why bring attitude to the set or to a convention?
I always show up to work with a big smile on my face and a great attitude towards the cast AND crew. Isn’t that how it SHOULD be when one shows up to work? On shows that my husband and I produce, we treat EVERYONE with nothing but respect.
I have met a few new girls (they are new to me ~ some have been in the biz for a couple of years +) who are just super nice. Madelyn Marie, Amy Brooke, Tori Black, Nicole Ray, Ally Kay, Ashlyn Rae to name a few. These girls don’t seem to have an attitude of being better than every one else in this business and don’t treat us ‘Milf’s’ like we have no right still being in this business. I have heard many complaints from other ‘Milf’s’ in our business being treated like garbage on set. Why? Now, I have heard from my younger peers as well that there are some old school porn stars that come to set with outrageous diva behavior. I think that totally sucks and these ladies should know better and be respectful to even the newest of talent ~ again, both male and female.
I had a couple of crappy experiences when I was in Miami for the Exxxotica show. Without naming names, I was in the bar area at a hotel when I ran into two porn stars that were sitting at the bar. One of the girls (whom I know and like) was being totally cool, said hello and we hugged. Then the girl, with whom I put out my hand and introduced myself to, just looked at me like I was a piece of shit and blew me off. WOW! I can’t believe that this girl even has fans with that attitude.
My second experience happened at the restaurant at the hotel that we were staying at. It was later in the evening and my husband, Jill Kelly, Tyler Faith and I were having dinner. People were stopping by our table and hanging out and chatting. A porn star’s boy friend came by the table and once again, I extended my hand out and introduced myself ~ at MY table, and I’ll be dammed if that guy didn’t even look at me and walked away. At first I felt like a douche bag for even making an effort, but looking back at the situation I now feel that the boy friend is just very disrespectful, arrogant human being who doesn’t deserve a hand shake from myself or any other porn star in this business.
So sad that we can’t all get along without some one talking shit, blatantly trying to take other peoples jobs from them (never had that happen to me when I was shooting back in the day) and being just plain rude on set.
This is really disappointing and I find it to be an embarrassment to our industry, where we get such negativity for what we do and then let shameless ego get in the way of what should be a good, fun working experience.
There is absolutely NO excuse for being an egotistical asshole on set no matter how ‘old’ or ‘new’ you are.
It’s called RESPECT people~ Have It!

I am a Ebony Cougar Cam Model who will venture into porn I have to be honest I am delighted to even tweet with the established porn stars good grief hopefully I will get to meet some at up and coming events I will probably be overwhelmed.
As far respect is going I do see how younger girls in the biz act as if older women don’t have a right to be around. Well I have news for them men have different taste and they will not stay young forever. Do they think they will break the bank by 25 and never have to do it again. I say think again the way I see some of them blowing through cash they won’t have none by next week. The main thing is that everyone should be respectful of others regardless of age, job, color, or money.

Hi Tabitha, nice to meet you. Hi Cindi and friends.
I’m glad to see that you care about this issue. The disrespect you talk about is happening -as far as I can see- in all industries and all countries. Why? I don’t know. I assume that the gap between generations is getting bigger.
Regards,
Susana
Hi Tabitha,
I had to respond to this because manners is a big issue with me.. I have to agree with Susana, it is in all industries, even mine, marketing, and in all countries.. I don’t think a lot of people bring up they’re kids with the same values including respect that we did in the old days..Susana is right, it’s just the gap getting bigger and no one instilling those values..
Best Wishes,
Gary
Incredibly insightful, and informative. I don’t usually make feedback, as I’m sort to a blog lurker, but I idea it deserved a word or two. Thanks for expressing.
